The focus of ATGK is to provide firearms for personal defense, sport shooting, and the preservation of our 2nd Amendment Rights. This is done by providing an easy-to-use interactive website www.GunandKnifeworks.com, there you will find thousands of firearms and accessories, as well as many other related outdoor products. We also provide gunsmithing services to include repair, restoration, and customization. Being a firearms store with gunsmithing services has proven to benefit our new and old customers. In addition to being a gun store and offering gunsmithing services we are one of Birmingham’s only military surplus stores. ATGK has an expansive selection of camos, boots, backpacks, emergency foods, military memorabilia, and many other fascinating items. ATGK is a registered class 07 FFL manufacturer of firearms and ammunition. Currently, we have twelve ammunition making machines with hundreds of thousands of components to manufacture tens of thousands of different calibers of ammunition. As an 07 manufacturer we also make customized pistols and rifles for our customers enjoyment. ATGK is a unique store that offers something for everyone. Our customer base is as diverse as any modern business could hope for, drawing from all walks of life, all races, creeds, religions and familial status. Store History and Current Outlook
Gun store in established location since 1982, when it was originally known as Plaza Gunworks and Plaza Pawn. When the former owner retired in 2016, the store was rebranded as American Tactical Gun and Knifeworks (ATGK) owned by Eric Bradford in 2018. Sense opening in 2018, the store has seen extensive growth every year and continues to prosper. Gun stores are one of the few businesses which will see sales rise no matter the status of the economy and practically recession proof.
Reason for Selling
The reason I am selling ATGK is because I have other business interest that I am involved with. I have been a real estate broker for twenty-one years and have many land projects that I am working on. Also, I am involved in Boy Scout of America as the Climbing Director of Alabama, which duties include facilitating the training of instructors, inspecting climbing locations, and ensuring all regulations are met to name a few. Owning ATGK has been very rewarding but has pulled me in too many directions away from my other responsibilities.
